The Site

In the Florida Panhandle, just south of the Florida-Alabama state line, lies the 2,240-acre (906-hectare) Florida-Alabama Mega Site.  Its vast size, easy access to an extensive transportation network, and proximity to numerous automotive parts suppliers makes this the ideal home for a large automotive manufacturing facility.  The area’s strong automotive presence means there’s a large, highly skilled workforce available.  The labor force within 75 miles (approximately 120 kilometers) is well over 500,000 people.

The Florida-Alabama Mega Site is 2,240 contiguous acres (906 hectares) that can be customized to meet almost any need.  The site will be accessible via a 4-lane road that connects to US 231 – a 4-lane divided highway.  US 231 connects to Interstate 10 which stretches from Florida to California and has numerous interchanges with other major interstates.  These connections provide interstate access in all directions and reach almost every major U.S. market.  A secondary site entrance will be provided by an access road from Florida State Road 2.

The property will also have an on-site rail spur via a proposed 3-kilometer extension of Bay Line Railroad – part of the Genesee & Wyoming rail system – with connections to CSX and Norfolk Southern.  The Bay Line Railroad will give the site direct access to deepwater Port Panama City. The nearby CSX line connects directly to the deepwater ocean port, JAXPORT, in Jacksonville, Florida, the Port of Mobile, Alabama, and the Port of Pensacola, Florida.

The location is serviced by three regional airports located in Dothan Alabama (30 mile/48 km), Panama City (49 mi/79 km) and Tallahassee (63 mi/101 km) Florida. In addition the City of Marianna operates a Municipal airport only 12 miles (19 km) from the site.
